Tuscavia

Project funded by the program Tuscany POR FESR 2014-2020, action 1.1.5 Sub. A1
Call n.1 – Strategic research and development projects
Project co-financed from Tuscany POR FESR 2014-2020, action 1.1.5 Sub. A1

Aim
The aim of the TUSCAVIA project concerns the production of active ingredients obtained from raw materials of vegetal origin, present in the Tuscany region, which can have an antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral function, which can be used in many sectors.

Innovation
The project will study and develop the extraction processes of bioactive compounds, with the aid of in silico predictive models, for creating an alternative system to the traditional chemical synthesis processes known today.
The project will lead to the construction of an innovative intelligent, versatile and dynamic extraction pilot plant binding the Industry 4.0 strategy and moreover it will lead to the obtaining of extracts and active ingredients that will be tested in several application fields, and for which many chemical properties will be evaluated physical, nutritional and therapeutic, thanks to the collaboration between different types of companies and research centres.
The TUSCAVIA project will also be managed through an innovative 4.0 digital platform created and validated within the project, with the aim of overseeing the correctness of the approach given to R&S, the contractual formalization of collaboration relationships and the patent enhancement of all results of project obtained.
